More than chic. Postpartum wear that helps you heal.
By Lauren Scott Dovey, Founder and Inventor Heat Healer
Nothing prepares you for the fourth trimester. One minute, you’re staring at this tiny human in disbelief, the next, you’re navigating a level of tiredness that feels impossible to shake. Your body, once stretched to its limits, now feels foreign... swollen, aching, recalibrating. The world moves on, but you’re still healing. And yet, postpartum recovery remains an afterthought.

Lauren immediately after the birth of her twins with her healing journey ahead of her.
After my second pregnancy (twins) I was struck by the lack of real support. The options were either medical and rigid or flimsy, ineffective, and not to mention sweaty too. No one tells you that you don’t just bounce back. You rebuild. But where was the recovery wear that actually helped with that process? That’s one of the reasons why I invented the Activated Lymphatic Onesie and Leggings, a wearable lymphatic massage with temperature-regulating infrared textile technology, clinically backed to help you recover faster and sleep better. Where was the support that moved with me, rather than worked against me?

LEARNING TO FEEL AT HOME IN MY BODY AGAIN
Swelling is inevitable, but stagnation doesn’t have to be. I learned that lymphatic flow is key and when it slows, everything feels heavier. Gentle compression, mapped strategically to encourage lymphatic and blood flow, became my answer to:
- Easing fluid retention and postpartum puffiness
- Boosting circulation to relieve that deep-leg ache
- Encouraging detoxification when movement feels impossible
- Providing subtle sculpting that feels supportive, not restrictive
And because motherhood doesn’t wait, I thought about the details that would make a difference. An easy-off shoulder design for breastfeeding.

POSTPARTUM ISN’T JUST PHYSICAL
It’s wild how quickly your body changes after birth One minute you’re sweating through the sheets, the next you’re wrapped in chills. The emotional and hormonal shifts hit just as hard. I wanted something that would work with my body, not against it. Temperature-regulating, breathable embedded yarns became essential, helping to:
- Keep cool during night sweats, warm during chills
- Provide a light, comforting compression to encourage circulation
- Ease discomfort and fatigue, so I could focus on my babies... not just my body
DRESSING FOR THIS NEW CHAPTER
There’s an expectation that postpartum wear should either be pure function (restrictive bands, medical-looking garments) or pure comfort (oversized sweats, things that hide you). But why not both? I wanted something that I could live in... something sculpting yet soft, practical yet beautiful. Something that helped me feel like myself again.
Postpartum is a crash course in surrender. Your body moves at its own pace, your energy fluctuates, and healing isn’t linear. But the right support can make all the difference.
